Into the Forest, Through the Labyrinth: A Fairytale and Myth Writing Workshop

This workshop is now sold out.

A Fairy tale writing series by Nadia Georgatsou. Date: 30th November, 2024. A 2 hour Zoom session. Replays available for everyone who signs up. Free for everyone in Wildflowers are Prayers Community.

Step into a world of enchanted forests and ancient labyrinths, where the line between fairytale and myth begins to blur. Join us for an immersive writing workshop exploring Hansel and Gretel alongside the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. Through these timeless tales, we’ll uncover themes of resilience, courage, and the drive to find one’s way home—even in the darkest of places. This workshop will include guided writing prompts, group discussions, and the chance to reimagine these stories from new perspectives. We’ll also discuss Ithaca by Constantine Cavafy, tying in the theme of returning home as a central motif in both fairytale and myth.

Expect a creative and reflective journey, diving deep into storytelling’s most powerful themes and coming away with fresh insights. Let’s craft our own tales of transformation, escape, and return. Bring your notebooks, pens, and a spirit for adventure!

Meet your Wonderful Host: Nadia Georgatsou.

Nadia Georgatsou, a Greek writer in her twenties, weaves the magic of ancient myths, the forests, and the sea into her stories from her home in Lithuania. Born in the middle of summer, she's always been deeply connected to the elements around her-especially to the calming presence of water. Her writing explores the realms of magical realism, mythology, fairytales, and surrealism, blending personal reflections with timeless narratives.

Through The Journey of Remembering, her digital sanctuary, Nadia shares her love for storytelling, poetry, and the art of slowing down to cherish life's small, often overlooked moments. A passionate lover of books, art, and nature, she believes in the power of stillness to reconnect with our true selves and find joy in simplicity.
