Grief is a Form of Love, A Writing Invitation.

Writing Workshop (June 1st to July 6th 2025, Five Saturdays)

How do you hold grief in your body?

If you'd to dream up a form for your grief— what would that look like?

Would it be a song, a myth, a lyric memoir? A dream journal, a poem?

Now imagine a group that brings all these in one place. Here you'll learn how to honor your grief. Kiss it like you would, a wounded kid.

Can small daily rituals like pouring coffee, making your bed—become radical acts of rebellion? Yes

Where: Zoom. When: 6 weeks. 1st June, 8th June, 15th June, 22nd June, 29th June, 6th July. Every Sunday.

Timings: 10 am EST to 12 pm EST. Replays available for every session.

Flexible payment options: choose a 1 time fee or a 2 month payment plan. Bonus gift— a full 2 month free access to my writing community, Wildflowers are Prayers. You can continue being a part of the community even after the workshop, if you want.

Weeks I & II:

Grief is hard as it is. You don't have to do it alone.

Experience the power of grieving in community. Navigate it through dream-journalling, poetry, mythologising.

Week III: Creative exercises to unknot the self-loathing or shame you've stored in your body for years.

There's no right or wrong way to hold space for grief. Just a permission to show up as your honest self.

Weeks IV & V:Somatic writing exercises + emotional processing tools to help you get "unstuck"— especially when you feel frozen in grief.

Techniques to actually move through grief (gently unwinding yourself from a freeze/flight response to it). Grief isn’t a linear journey. It spirals, meanders, or circles back to itself: at different points in time. We’ll embrace the non-linear wilderness of grief, both in our writing & our lives.

Grief as something not only to work your way around, but also utilise. Grief as a presence to learn from.

Week VI: Discover joy & grief aren't strangers in different rooms.

They’re 2 friends sharing the same home. Finish working on your poems or prose pieces.

Course Takeaways:

1. Throughout the course: we will examine poems & essays written on grief by Mary Oliver, Audre Lorde, Ocean Vuong, bell hooks, Ross Gay, Sharon Olds, Li-Young Lee, and more. We’ll explore multidisciplinary approaches to writing an essay or poem on grief.

2. Weekly readings from diverse writers, constant chat support. A supportive community to discuss any questions that come up for you in the writing process.

3. Support on how to get published, pitch to magazines & journals.

4. Each writer will work on their own grief poem/essay. The community writers & I will provide personalised feedback on each piece submitted in the group.

5. Find a balance between learning craft tools, and exploring complex emotional truths as a writer. Write, & be inspired by a compassionate community of writers from over the world.

6. We'll watch snippets of films about grief (think Manchester by the Sea, Three Colours: Blue, Terms of Endearment). Let our writing be inspired by them. The film sessions are optional, but if you want to attend them— I'd love to see you there. If you’re a multidisciplinary artist, this is a great place to be.

7. We'll meet live on Zoom for six weeks. A deep transformative experience for everyone.

8. Access to an exclusive packet of resources, readings, craft essays, writing prompts and workshop recordings.

Don’t spend another carrying unresolved wounds. Embark on a journey of transformation.
